Join our campaign!

Why should I join?

We are asking businesses, organisations and schools in Corby to sign up to the Corby Clean and Proud campaign.

There are many benefits to maintaining a clean and tidy environment surrounding your business premises. Having a clean and tidy business premises creates the right impression with your customers and can even boost sales when you demonstrate you care about your image.

More importantly than that, litter is a serious problem in our country – the stats show it:

  • Street cleansing alone costs taxpayers almost £1 billion a year in England.
  • Plastic bags can take up to 20 years to biodegrade, and plastic bottles don’t biodegrade.
  • Over 69,000 animals killed or injured by litter last year in Britain.
  • 30,000,000 tonnes of litter are collected from England’s streets each year
  • Cleaning chewing gum costs local authorities £20,000 a year – that’s £56m a year in England.
